I'd have noodle arms if I could have surfed this past week. But instead I was sidelined with work and injuries that consumed my entire week. I did get to hear stories of the groms (young and old) shredding up and down the coast in a week of north east swell that just kept on giving on both coasts.
Friday evening's session was as close as I got to the surf. It was pretty impressive to see The Point, Seconds and every peak between the St Clair Hot Saltwater Pool and Lawyers Head doing its best impression of a wave pool. Near perfection at times and dotted with suitors in a remakably well-spread out fashion. I saw Dogga zero in on a left hand bank that at times looked like a mini Teahupo'o. He made getting shacked look easy.
Others were feasting on superbly groomed banks at Sharks and all the way down to Lollapalooza. Everyone had stories of manageable crowds and plenty of waves.
My week was spent in the studio and running around Dunedin to film a new highlight reel for local cycling accessory company Aeroe. They make an incredible rack system that works for all bikes including full-on dual suspension mountain bikes and eMTBs. They're one of my oldest Dunedin clients – I first shot their original campaign for them back in 2009. I'm so stoked to see them not only thriving but continuing to innovate and grow in a global marketplace. If you're into adventure then you should check out Aeroe right here.
