Surfing in November is filled with good vibes. Longer days combined with warmer water and air temperatures make life just that tad easier in the south. No more booties, hoods or gloves. Just one wetsuit, a leash and your favourite board. Simple.
Having such a variety of waves on offer helps. We surfed both coasts this week and had standout moments at each of them. I think the kids were up to 10 days of surfing until the swell disappeared completely on Sunday ... and then they immersed themselves in the live scoring from The King and Queen of the Point – New Zealand's richest surf event being held at Manu Bay in Raglan. Congrats to Billy Stairmand and Paige Hareb, who won the event.
This coming week looks like more of the same. Lots of small swell and super light winds should make for some really clean, calm, summery conditions after today's wind blows through. Get amongst it, crank up the barbie and grab your favourite Emerson's. Summer is not far away ...
