As you may know we've been busy in the background working on a new media brand with lofty goals for surfing in New Zealand. In the next few weeks we will be officially launching New Zealand Surf Journal, which exists to shine a light on all the good things happening in the New Zealand surfing industry, sport and recreation. We have some of the country's best surf writers, experts, photographers and videographers on the schedule to deliver the stories from throughout the country.
And we need you – yes, you. I have been asked quite a few times since we soft-launched New Zealand Surf Journal what that means for Box of Light. Well, it won't change your weekly dose of stoke. Box of Light has always been about your Tuesday morning coffee break filled with images from where you'd rather be. That won't change. The stories may not go on for longer than your boss allows for your break, but we'll link you to those longer reads over on New Zealand Surf Journal. Otherwise we will still be chasing the best images from our week and tempting you weekly about buying a new artwork for your home!

PS Yesterday, Taranaki's Paige Hareb, re-qualified for the WSL Championship Tour for 2019 with a blazing performance at the Port Stephens Toyota Pro in NSW. That's such amazing news and propels our most successful surf athlete even further into the record books. Here's her story here.
