We can learn a lot from the All Blacks. Their 2015 RWC campaign was nothing short of meticulous with incisive rugby, a superbly delivered set of strategies and a level of performance and intensity that truly belonged to world champions. But it is not why they won that was most impressive, but the way in which they conducted themselves throughout the tournament. We could all learn from that.
But perhaps the piece that is most striking is the way they celebrated their win – wholeheartedly and as a team bonded by the years of hard work leading up to this moment. There is something in those moments for every Kiwi to learn from – the importance of celebrating success. In a nation of fertile poppy growing ground, we have become expert harvesters, but dead poppies are no good to anyone. The All Blacks have shown us that it is possible to be humble and still celebrate success. We could all do with a little more of that in our lives.
