June 23rd 2015: 200

Today you are reading the 200th edition of Box of Light. That's more than 2000 images since I started back in 2011 – served up every Tuesday at 10:30am. I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to embark on some really cool trips as I work on various magazine assignments and commercial jobs. Here are a few of my favourites with highlights in Australia, Norfolk Island, Samoa, the Poor Knights Islands, the North Island beaches and some of my more recent work in the high-country (even a shot from the snow that locked us into Flockhill Station this past week – not a bad place to be snowed in).

Travel is a great way for me to keep my photography fresh and to learn more ways to develop my craft. It's one thing to have the best camera on the market, it's another to constantly be pulling great images out of it. With each journey I learn something new and that's what keeps me so motivated to shoot more and travel further, deeper and to evolve. Then I share it with you and hope you like it. Mostly you do – we get a lot of feedback every week (thanks for that!).

When we started this journey the All Blacks were hosting the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, there was a complete set of poles at St Clair, a 50 mega-pixel Canon EOS 5DS was just a pipe dream and the streets of Otepoti were devoid of art. A lot changes in 200 editions. In fact, change is the only real constant in the world of photography.

More waves this week ... damn, we are spoiled.
